Summary
Frog Street Pre-K provides a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate program designed to support development across domains through integrated, thematic instruction and consistent routines. The materials offer a strong foundation for building positive relationships, supporting diverse learners, and creating engaging learning environments. Across the program, children are provided with opportunities to learn through whole-group, small-group, and center-based experiences that support interaction, collaboration, and engagement.
The program includes a broad range of content across domains, with thematic units that promote exploration and connections across areas of learning. Instructional resources and program guidance support classroom implementation, organization, and teaching practices, contributing to a structured and consistent instructional framework.
Across content areas, there is variation in how learning goals, conceptual depth, and skill progression are articulated and connected within daily instruction. The materials demonstrate strengths in social-emotional development and language and literacy, where learning experiences and progression are more consistently supported. Supports for diverse learners and responsive practices are present, with variation in how explicitly and consistently these supports are embedded across lessons. There were missed opportunities to more clearly demonstrate how learning builds over time and how instructional guidance supports this development, particularly in mathematics, science, social studies, and the arts. Assessment and implementation supports are included, with opportunities to strengthen guidance for interpreting assessment results and applying them to instructional decisions.
Frog Street Pre-K materials offer integrated supports for teaching and learning, with missed opportunities in clarity, coherence, and consistency in some domains.
