The instructional materials do not meet the expectations of providing texts with quality and complexity and alignment to the standards with tasks and questions grounded in evidence, of providing texts worthy of students’ time and attention while supporting students’ advancement toward independent reading, nor of providing opportunities for rich and rigorous evidence-based discussions about writing about texts to build strong literacy skills. The instructional materials were not reviewed for Gateway 2.
