The Carolina Biological Certified Version of OpenSciEd draws upon the same science content as OpenSciEd (2022) and has the same scores across the program. Some evidence statements have been edited to reflect the differences in program navigation and usability, including the presence of an online digital platform.
The materials include a print teacher edition, as well as a teacher and student digital platform. The content in the print version is identical to the teacher's digital version. Additionally, the digital platform offers some technology capabilities for how the learning plans are executed and assessed. Within the digital platform, materials are organized into tabs that include multiple sections for teacher planning and delivery as well as a student facing digital notebook which has some interactive capabilities.

In Gateway 1, the materials meet expectations for Three-Dimensional Learning and Phenomena and Problems Drive Learning. In Gateway 2, the materials meet expectations for Coherence and Full Scope of the Three Dimensions. In Gateway 3, the materials meet expectations for Usability.
