The instructional materials reviewed for Holt McDougal Literature Grades 6 through 8 include many components of the standards to support students’ growing literacy skills. The core texts used are high quality and include appropriate genres and rigor for students at the grade levels, although teachers may need to supplement to ensure students growing literacy over the school year.
